Baptismal Font

Baptismal Font -

Our new Baptismal Font was built in Pietrasanta, Italy, and blessed by the Most Rev. Joseph C. Bambera, Bishop of Scranton, during the celebration of Mass on Sunday, September 13, 2020.

Four square floor tiles have been installed to commemorate and honor the four parish communities which consoldated into Saint John the Evangelist:

Saint John the Evangelist

Founded 1854; originally Irish ethnic background

Saint Casimir’s

1890-2008; originally Lithuanian ethnic background

Saint Joseph’s

1909-2008; originally Polish ethnic background

Saint John the Baptist

1892-2008; originally Slovak ethnic background

Although physically, the churches may not still stand, our Parish community deeply cherishes and builds upon the rich history of the four churches. Each time a individual is baptized, they are welcomed into the loving community of the four churches that build up St. John the Evangelist Parish Community.
